Avatar Marketplace: Vision and Guiding Principles
Today, Roblox announced new guiding principles and their vision for a 100% community-driven Avatar Marketplace, the ability for all users to publish assets by the end of 2023, plus additional new features releasing this week:
- New In-Experience Only Sales Location — Creators will now be able to set their items to be acquirable in-experience only for the original stock. Since these transactions are happening in-experience, the experience Developer will receive a 40% share of the purchase.
- Creator controls how many original copies people can purchase — Introducing a new creator-facing setting to control how many copies of your original stock you want your users to be able to acquire.
- Removing price ceilings for Limiteds — Removing price ceilings for Limiteds to give creators the ability to price their Limiteds at what they believe is the current market value.
- Group publishing — Rolling out the ability for groups to publish Limiteds, just like they can for non-limiteds.
Creator Roadmap: Part 3 Released
A few weeks ago, Roblox released the new Creator Roadmap, a new place where Roblox will share products they’re building specifically for creators and solutions they are investigating to address the pain points you’ve shared. This week, the third of four installments was revealed, and focuses on how creators can benefit from a growing ecosystem.
Performance Analytics Dashboard
Easily monitor your experience’s performance and user metrics with the new Performance analytics page on the Creator Dashboard. View performance before/after each update, identify issues with filters, and resolve them in one place.
Microsoft Rewards: Plasma Wings
Ready to spread your wings? For a limited time, U.S. Microsoft Rewards members can get the exclusive Plasma Wings back accessory for their Roblox avatar when redeemed for certain Roblox Digital Cards, while supplies last.
Roblox Executives Sell Over $35 Million in Stock Shares
This week, CEO Dave Baszucki and other executive team members sold a large amount of their shares in Roblox stock (NYSE: $RBLX), equating almost $40,000,000 USD. Learn more and view a breakdown of how many shares each team member sold and the aggregate market value in the Bloxy Blog post below:
Team Create Auto-Reconnect
Creators should be able to quickly get in and out of Studio. When coming back after a short break, this means jumping right back into action with zero friction. As part of this, Roblox is releasing a new feature that automatically reconnects Team Create users — you will no longer be prompted with a dialog asking you to reconnect or close.
Streaming Enabled Updates
StreamingEnabled is a key part of Roblox’s future. This technology enables massive worlds, improves join times, and helps reduce crashes, especially on lower-end devices. This week, Roblox revealed some changes that are in development and coming this Summer that will help improve.
