Re-Building Roblox Groups from the Ground Up: Introducing Organizations

Coming soon, “Organizations” will allow for deeper collaboration permissions, revenue, and team management on the platform.

Last month, Roblox released their 2023 Creator Roadmap, and in it stated that this year they will be working on “re-building ‘Groups’ from the ground up to make it easier to manage permissions.” Today, further details have emerged about this revamp thanks to internal strings discovered and originally reported by Explorers of the Metaverse.

Introducing Organizations, a new and improved way to manage roles and permissions in existing Roblox Groups. When this feature begins to get rolled out, Creators will be able to join the preview beta and enable Organizations for a Group they manage on the Creator Dashboard. Once enabled, you will gain access to additional tools and beta features including transferring experiences from one account to another account or organization, additional asset management permissions like limiting analytics access to error reporting, and more ways to share revenue to your team and collaborators. During the initial launch, some Group permissions will remain on the current Group Configuration page on the main Roblox site.

The release for Organizations is slated for Late 2023, however launch windows shown on the Creator Roadmap are subject to change. Stay tuned for more information regarding Organizations as Roblox gets closer to launch!
